On Friday, we left to Park City for a night. My grandfather had asked my cousin if she'd like to use the timeshare, so she invited us up. When we got there, we left for dinner and ended up at Wasatch Pub and Brewery (or something like that). I was so unimpressed. The food was not that great and the waitress rathered talking to her coworkers than helping us with anything. Oh well...and I still tipped well too! Ugh!It was FREAKIN' cold! It was forecasted that snow would be visiting, so we were bundled up. Cole snapped a picture of Milo in his new winter coat walking down Main Street in PC.

After dinner, we headed back to the Marriot Mountainside Resort. The timeshare
was really quite nice. You walk into a small kitchen area with a dining area and a TV area. To one side is a big bedroom with a tub big enough for the kids to swim in and a nice shower. To the other side is a big bedroom with a little kitchen area and your standard hotel bathroom. We stayed in the one with the kitchen area. While Cole and Maggie enjoyed the 7 Deadly Zins (red wine), I made myself some hot cocoa (I forgot my Bailey's!). Milo and Olivia were running around, having fun. At one point, Milo falls down and hits his head on a lamp. So he starts crying.
I pick him up to console him and I feel his little tummy lurch. The night before, he had vomitted a bit, so I immediately knew what was coming. But, I didn't make it to the bathroom before vomit soon covered one side of the couch, a crazy area on the floor, and the wall and doors. As I ran to get him into bathroom, he vomitted more. At this point, I start to get queasy as I notice that I have vomit all down my back, pants, and shoes. I get the bath going for Milo. He's turned a scary shade of green, but manages to act like his normal self. I let him chew on a washcloth and cleaned him up while stripping myself down. Even my bra got it!

When we get out of the bathroom, Cole was cleaning and Maggie had called the front desk. They sent up a person to clean the carpets. Poor Milo. He went to bed, woke up at 1:00am, but got back to bed. The next morning, he was fine. So, after some persuasion from Maggie and Olivia, I opted to ride the Alpine Coaster. It was sooo scary, but so fun! Here's a short video. I kept hitting the stop button on my camera, but oh well!

After the coaster, we went to the hot tub. It was snowing, but we found a nice tub that was about the same temperature as Milo's bath. He loved it! He was 'swimming' around and having a great time...even attempted a cannon ball into the tub! We went home soon after.

It was after we got home that the rain started and the snow came. Our first snow of the season! Milo loved it! He's definately an outdoor kid! We ended up with about 5 inches of snow. It was all gone by Monday though! But poor Cole, he's been sick since Saturday night. It's Tuesday night now and he's just starting to feel better. Looks like I got it first and the boys got the mutated bug!

Milo's birthday party

Saturday...what a trip!!!
First, I woke up...very sick...tummy cramps that had me doubled over. You'd think I would then spend my time in the restroom, but NO! I just had to suffer.

Then, the power went out...it was out for over an hour...almost 2. Cole called the power company to which the recording said, "Power is expected to be restored at 3:00 PM". Nice, the party starts at 2:00. Luckily, the power came back on.

Also...it rained the whole time. But the party was nice! Milo got a lot of fun stuff, lots of books and train stuff and a good assortment of clothes. I didn't make the cake, we hired someone, and she did a great job! White cake with strawberry and raspberry filling. YUM!

Here are some pictures from the party! I just wish that I had felt better and would have been able to enjoy it more!

Another year

I really can't believe that Milo is turning two on Saturday. It seems like time is certainly flying by.

We went shopping today for his birthday. Cole and I bought him a bike and two outfits. We found a lady that will make him a train birthday cake, her daughter works with Cole, so that's always good. Milo and I hit the party store and the Dollar Store to finish up with plates, streamers, ect. He loves trains, so that's the theme this year.

I am, however, disappointed in the weather. BOO!!! I've been watching for two weeks now. For a long time, they were predicting a great day in the 70's. But now, mid-60's and rain. That's what happened last year! So now the question is....hotdogs and hamburgers or pizza? Thankfully, it's not going to be as crowded as last year as not as many invites went out, but still! Our yard is soooo beautiful and healthy this year, it would be great for the kiddos to run around on.

Side note: They just opened at Chucky Cheese in Layton by us. Guess that could be an alternative for next year.

So, yes...Happy Birthday Milo! You are the greatest gift I've ever received! Love you! :)

Milo's boots

So, for awhile now, I've been wanting to get Milo his first pair of cowboy boots. I just love lil' kids in boots for some reason, cracks me up. And of course, Cole holds ever so dearly to his "hick" roots. So, we've been looking for some, but could never find what we wanted within a reasonable price range.

A cramp in the leg prompted me to do some walking, so why not walk in the mall? I wanted to stop by Bath and Body Works to see if a new scent had come in for my cousin who is so far away. So, after visiting there and getting Milo a new blue ducky for the bath tub, we kept walking. I forgot there was a Payless Shoe Store there, so we went in...and there they were...size 7 in toddler. A bit big, but boots run small, yes?

I took them down, took off Milo's shoes, and put them on. He was hooked! Got out of his stroller, ran all over the place, threw a fit when I tried to take them off. And who can turn down a Buy One Get One Half Off sale? So he got a new pair of sneakers too.

So, yeah, the boots, he loves 'em. Kept them on the whole day. I just hope I can keep them off of him when he wants to wear them with shorts...LOL!

Our Vacation

So, we left for a little week break to visit our friends, Rob and Jamie and their cute new addition, Ruby. They live in a small town in Washington, called Cathlamet. We had a fantastic time! Jamie and I even left for a few hours to get a pedicure! It tickled like all get out!

I have sooooo many pictures to post, but they have to wait just a bit. I want to put up the edited versions. :)

We are off to have a play date with Denise and Jaxon today as well. Tomorrow is Denise's birthday, so I am showing her the fine dining experience of Cafe Rio (which she hasn't yet been to!!!). It's utterly un-Utahn to not have ate at Cafe Rio...and she's been here a few years so there is no excuse!

Ahhh....Summer!

We've been having the "classic" summer. A bunch of nothing but seem soooo busy!!!

In June, we took Milo to another Mommy and Me swim class. He did great this time, understood a little more than last year. Unfortunately, no pictures. Soon after the classes ended, we switched babysitters. Denise and her sons Brennen and Jaxon have taken Milo into their home when I have to work. Jaxon and Milo, though we've always thought they were peas-in-a-pod, have really become good friends. I watched Jaxon for Denise and got some pictures of these boys playing together.

I've decided that I really need a hobby! Cole is golfing and climbing a lot, but with Milo around, it's hard to do both those things. So, I've started playing with Cole's dSLR. These are just the beginning, with no editing. There's a lot I need to learn!

Ahhh!

School is done! YAY!!!!

It's not all good though. I unfortunately did not get into the nursing program that I applied to and now am rethinking the whole thing. I would want to get my masters to be a CNM, but I don't want to be starting my career at 40. Just not my thing I suppose. So, we're in a "wait and see" type of stance. Focus on the family and home and have a good summer.

After work today, I headed down to my cousin's house. Cole was in the area to pick up a new color plotter courtesy of ksl.com classifieds. So, we all decided to go to dinner. We went to The Pie. I hadn't been there in ages and wasn't aware there was one down in WJ/Draper area. I got a calzone (aka zappy), and though it was good...it wasn't nearly as good as the one I got in Scotland...that one was to die for!

Milo has had an off day today. I guess he's been a bit blue. He really didn't want me to leave him today at the sitters, and she said that he was sad all day. He was really whinny in the car with Cole, but was great at my cousin's house and at dinner. On the way home, he cried for about 20 minutes. OMG, I was going to die! So I started singing Thomas the Train songs, and then Old McDonald, and all sorts of songs. It was the only way to make him stop crying.

When we finally got home, he went nuts! Running all over the place playing with a broken toy. Considering it's Cinco de Mayo, I swear, it was only water in the sippy! I guess this is what happens with an extremely tired 19 month old!

Please, Thank You!

So, we've been working with Milo on sign language a lot since he really doesn't like talking...LOL!

I've been signing off and on with him since he was just a teeny tiny baby, but really started doing more recently. He's been signing please and thank you now for about 2 months or so. Here's a video. I had to ask him to say it, but if you got something he wants, he'll sign without a prompt! :)

He's also modified want and hungry as well. We're working on more signs. It helps that I took so much sign lanugage in school. I was only a few months away from getting certified as an instructor.

Aww! Four years ago

On the 28th of February, Cole and I got married. It's been such a great four years! As soon as we got back from our honeymoon, I started working for ITI (big career change). Shortly after, we bought our home. Then we bought some koi fish, a cat, and a dog. LOL! We went on many trips, saw many things! All these memories did nothing but make our relationship and love stronger. We were blessed with our little Milo.
We are at a great point in our lives. Sure, there are things on the horizion that are life changing, but we'll tackle that as we've done everything else! (Mainly school for me! YIKES!)
I love Cole so much! We offer each other support, love, and we really tend to even each other out. He has been a great husband, a great provider, and the most wonderful father I could have wished for our boy!
Here's to many more years! Watch out Wendover! Here we come! LOL!

Yes, it's been a month

Between Photobucket and their Bandwidth crap and school and starting work again, I just didn't blog for a month! WOW!

Not much going on...how sad is that? Milo had some problems this month. Got some sort of belly troubles and left him with a bad diaper rash. He's still not talking, but has started signing please and thankyou.

I started back at ITI part time. I am working on the food projects, so it's different from what I've done before, so it's nice.

Cole is busy...always drawing or thinking of a new thing to do to the house. He wants to tackle the main bathroom next, but I hope he finishes the basement bedroom and bath first.

A bunch of snow!

I took these pictures when it was still coming down. At that time, it was about 8 inches, I looked online, and it said my little town recieved upwards of 12 inches! In Salt Lake, they had to close down Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons. There was a small avalanche in LCC. I wonder if the garbage man will make it...LOL!

Our silly boy

One of the many things I love about Milo is how he can make me smile! Look at my child, hamming it up. He's hiking the ball, playing in mommy's hat, looking for daddy's belly button, and chewing on his lovey. LOL! I love how full of expression he is.
